Dr. Aaron Shives received his Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota in 1980. He continued his education at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Vermillion, earning his medical degree in 1986. Sioux Falls Family Practice Center was where Dr. Shives completed his internship and residency from 1986 through 1989.

Dr. Shives is board-certified with the American Board of Family Practice. In addition to family practice, Dr. Shives has an avid interest in Sports Medicine.

He and his wife, Deanna, enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
